And the winner of Voice 2013 is…Tessanne Chin.
The Jamaican powerhouse received the most votes to win the show’s grand prize on Tuesday night.
The Voice results were revealed at the end of a star-studded finale, packed with performances by returning contestants, Celine Dion, Paramore, Ne Yo and Lady GaGa.
According to host Carson Daly, the show received a record-breaking number of votes after Monday night’s performance show. Tessanne’s fans clearly have a little something to do with that. On social media, the level of support for the star-in-the-making was remarkable. And the new Voice winner’s rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” landed at number one on the iTunes chart Monday night.
Not surprisingly, the singer’s Jamaican fans flocked to the island’s capital on Tuesday night for a massive viewing party. Here’s a glimpse:
Teen standout Jacquie Lee landed in second place. And, as we predicted, cool crooner Will Champlin finished the competition in third place.
