Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson will kick off 2014 with a big honor at the ‘People’s Choice Awards,’ airing January 8 on CBS.
The ‘American Idol’ alum will receive the the second annual People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Humanitarian.” The award will recognize her work with the Julian D. King Gift Foundation, which she cofounded with her sister Julia Hudson in memory of her deceased nephew. The foundation offers support and supplies to inner-city students in Chicago.
“Thank you for honoring me with the Favorite Humanitarian Award. My sister Julia and I were raised with the belief that helping others was always very important,” Jennifer said in a statement.
